Cabotage is coastal shipping – shipping cargo between ports in the same country.

What documents do I need to send to arrange transportation?
3 documentos are required:
- Commercial invoices in PDF and XML formats;
- Supplementary shipping note (Guia Auxiliar de Embarque, GAE);
- VGM (Verified Gross Mass) statement.
All XML and/or NOTFIS files must be sent to the following e-mail address: nfe@alianca.com.br, referencing Aliança Navegação e Logística Ltda in the <transportar> and/or < autXML > tags up to two hours before loading; please also include in the notes field of the invoices (NF-e/CT-e) the Container, Booking and Seal numbers.
The supplementary shipping note (Guia Auxiliar de Embarque, GAE) consists of a summary of commercial invoices per container, which is necessary for providing adequate documentation. If you have never done this before, we can send you a model that is easy to fill out.

What’s the difference between requesting online quotations and bookings?
Requesting an online quotation means estimating transportation costs, according to the kind of cargo, as well as its origin and destination.
In such a quotation, it is possible to verify in detail all applicable costs, depending on the specific service involved, as well as the schedule of available vessels.
On the other hand, bookings are made after a valid quotation has been issued, at which point the cargo transport will be effectively reserved.
With the reservation confirmed, our agents will proceed with your shipment, moving forward with documentation clearance and pick-up scheduling.
How do I schedule a pick-up? How far in advance should I schedule?
Pick-ups must be scheduled at least 48 hours ahead of schedule through Portal Cabotagem or by an e-mail message addressed to our Customer Service team.
The pick-up can only be performed at least 48 hours before the vessel’s time of arrival.
When will I receive confirmation of my booking?
Booking confirmations are only sent after pick-ups are scheduled in our system.
How are deliveries performed at the destination?
Deliveries must be scheduled through Portal Cabotagem or by an e-mail message addressed to our Customer Service team containing the following information:
- Date;
- Time;
- Cargo Identifiers (Container, Booking or Invoices).
The deadline for this schedule is of at least 48 hours before the vessel is moored in the destination port.
